Early literacy fun that families can enjoy together at home!
Create a Jello Dig! Prepare 3 packets of sugar free Jello in a 9x13” baking dish. Before the Jello sets, place a few washable baby-safe items in the mix, such as a plastic spoon, building block, rattle, teething toy, a toy car, or a cap from a food pouch. Once the Jello is set, place the dish safely on the floor (a towel or other protective covering underneath the dish is highly recommended) or in the bathtub and let your child rediscover and dig out the toys! This activity tickles your child’s senses and encourages imaginative play.
If you and your child would like to be featured in a WNPL media post, please send a picture of you completing this activity to jhaydysch@wnpl.info. Be sure to include your names, date, and what you are doing. We would love to see your smiling faces!
