Early literacy fun that families can enjoy together at home!
Spend some time today making torn paper artwork with your child. Let your child rip up some colorful paper and then help them glue the torn bits onto a sheet of paper or cardstock to make a mosaic-like picture. Alternatively, you can use a piece of clear contact paper for them to stick the torn paper to. By encouraging fine motor development, you are also encouraging print awareness.
If you and your child would like to be featured in a WNPL media post, please send a picture of you completing this activity to jhaydysch@wnpl.info. Be sure to include your names, date, and what you are doing. We would love to see your smiling faces!
