Early literacy fun that families can enjoy together at home!
Stop by the library's main entrance any time during normal operating hours to pick up supplies for this week's Toddler Time activity! Supplies are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning today.
Scribble with chalk on a wet piece of construction paper for rich, vibrant chalk designs that your child will love! Place dark-colored construction paper on a table or baking sheet and moisten it using a sponge and water. Have a few sticks of colored chalk and a small, shallow dish of water available. Encourage your child to draw and scribble all over the wet paper. Continue dipping the chalk in water to draw with it. See what happens when you take your fingers and smudge the wet chalk drawing.
Alternatively, head outside on a sunny day with a small container of water and some brightly colored sidewalk chalk. Let your child dip the chalk in the water and draw on your driveway, sidewalk, fence, or porch. The freedom to scribble with chalk outdoors anywhere they want is great fun for any child!
